Dr. Theodore Krupin
Dr. Theodore Krupin has dedicated his entire
26 year career to providing patient care and performing
laboratory and clinical research primarily relating to glaucoma.
He completed his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship
training at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri
in 1976, and achieved the rank of Professor of Ophthalmology
in 1982. Dr. Krupin moved to the University of Pennsylvania
in Philadelphia in 1983 where he was interim Chairman of
the Department and Director of the Scheie Eye Institute
from 1986 to 1989. He joined the Department of Ophthalmology
at Northwestern University in 1990 and held the distinguished
title of "David E. Shoch Professor" of Ophthalmology.
In 1998, Dr. Krupin, along with Drs. Lisa Rosenberg and
Jon Ruderman, founded University Eye Specialists and the
Chicago Center for Vision Research. He remains a Clinical
Professor of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University.
Dr. Krupin has authored more than 200 original
scientific papers and is the author/editor of nine ophthalmology
textbooks, including "Atlas of Complications in Ophthalmic
Surgery" and "The Glaucomas." He is internationally
renowned as a glaucoma specialist and frequently invited
to lecture at universities and conferences around the world.
Dr. Krupin has been the recipient of many
distinguished awards from institutions such as, Research
to Prevent Blindness, the National Eye Institute, and Washington
University, St. Louis. He has also received the Senior Honor
Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has
been listed in the annual publication "Best Doctors
in America" since 1985. Dr. Krupin is a member of the
Scientific Advisory and Review Committee of the Glaucoma
Foundation (New York) and the National Glaucoma Advisory
Committee for Prevent Blindness America. He is also on the
Editorial Boards of "Seminars in Ophthalmology"
and the "Journal of Glaucoma." Dr. Krupin is currently
serving as the Secretary for the American Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Lisa F.
Rosenberg
Dr. Rosenberg's specializes in anterior
segment microsurgery including cataract removal and lens
implantation, glaucoma surgery, laser treatment, and refractive
surgery (LASIK).
Dr. Rosenberg is a graduate of Johns Hopkins
University and Rush Medical College. She completed her residency
in Ophthalmology at Washington University in St. Louis in
1988. Dr. Rosenberg has been an active member of the Northwestern
University academic community for more than 12 years. She
is an Associate Professor at Northwestern University where
she has been a leader in education and training of medical
students, residents, fellows, and colleagues. She is the
recipient of several honors, including excellence in teaching
and the Heed Prize for subspecialty training. Dr. Rosenberg
developed the ophthalmology curriculum for Northwestern
Medical student education. She has participated in community
outreach to Chicago's inner city by providing accessible
eye care and sight-saving surgery to needy individuals.
Equally important is Dr. Rosenberg's dedication to research
to improve understanding and advance treatment of ocular
conditions.
Dr. Rosenberg has distinguished herself
locally as the current President of the Chicago Ophthalmological
Society, and as the founding President of the Chicago Glaucoma
Society. She is nationally renown as a surgical textbook
author, a prolific contributor of over 35 research articles
and book chapters, and an extensive lecturer. Dr. Rosenberg
is the recipient of the LEO award from the American Academy
of Ophthalmology in recognition of her continual participation
in the Academy's education programs and publications.

numerous awards including the outstanding research

Dr. Jon M. Ruderman
Dr. Ruderman is a graduate of Yale University
and Northwestern Medical School. He interned at Northwestern
Memorial Hospital in general medicine and completed his
Ophthalmology training at the University of California and
University of Illinois. He received glaucoma fellowship
training at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Ruderman has
been an active member of the Northwestern University academic
community for more than 17 years. He is an Associate Professor
and has participated in the medical education and training
of medical students, residents, fellows and colleagues.
He has received numerous awards including the outstanding
research at the University of Illinois and the Heed Fellowship
award.
Dr. Ruderman has participated in many community
outreach and screening programs which provide care to the
underprivileged in the Chicago area. Dr. Ruderman has written
or contributed to over 40 research articles or book chapters,
and has lectured extensively in the United States. Dr. Ruderman
serves as President of the Chicago Glaucoma Society, and
chairman of the Quality Assurance Committee for Ophthalmology
at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He specializes in cataract
and glaucoma surgery.

Associate Dr. John Yang
Dr. John Yang received his undergraduate
degree from Northwestern University and received his medical
degree from Northwestern University Medical School. While
performing his undergraduate and medical school studies
at Northwestern, he was a member of the Honors Program in
Medical Education. He completed his medical internship at
the University of Illinois Medical Center and returned to
Northwestern University Medical School to receive his ophthalmology
training. While in his last year of training in ophthalmology,
Dr. Yang served as chief resident. Most recently, Dr. Yang
completed a glaucoma fellowship with University Eye Specialists.
Dr. Yang places high priority on providing excellent patient
care as well as continuing his education through research
in ophthalmology.
Dr. Yang's current research interests include
the development of internet testing of visual fields. By
developing an accessible means of visual field screening,
Dr. Yang hopes to enhance the opportunities for successful
glaucoma screening. Dr. Yang's clinical specialties include
cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease.
